Important, but not Loved

Apart from not  having enough room for all the stuff I try to cram into my
refrigerator and having a cheese drawer that detaches itself on a regular
basis my refrigerator is okay.  I recognize I am dependent on it and am not
ready to replace it so as long as it keeps doing what it is supposed to do,
I am content.

  1. I like the full frontal whipped cream in a can. Something about it is shameless. But I also like that there seems to be a fair amount of food that does not have any lables, fruit etc. kind of brandless, which is a relief.

Sometimes the fridge becomes this cave filled with brands that assult me when I open the door, after all, I just want something to eat.
What is it about the brands that live in the fridge? What do they say about us. I think they hold alot when it comes to food. Sometimes they reassure me regarding a quality (although the reassurance maybe false) and sometimes they make me feel very excited…certain cheese for example. But I also think there is this intense snobism that goes with food labels. Like buying clothes with logos on them…an expensive bottle of wine lying there in the fridge. Some my most favorite fridge is loaded with farmers market finds and all the fruit is out on the table rippening up.

  2. This fridge strikes the balance between full, and organized just right. if you open a fridge and its too organized it is not appetizing. but here; perhaps it is the whipped cream, it is all inviting.
